Relief Art - Materialized Structure and Depth
The tension between pictorial surface and plastic dimension.
The sculptural dimension of painting
This body of work marks a crucial research phase in my practice: the deliberate synthesis of painting, form, and material. What began as a conceptual experiment with concrete and mortar evolved into an autonomous sculptural language. The reliefs explore the permanent dialogue between visible surface and tectonic depth.
The incident light, the play of shadow, and subtle nuances of color create an inherent dynamism—a lively interplay that constantly shifts with the viewer's perspective. Each layer, each recess, and each material overlay retains traces of compressed time and physical pressure. This results in complex collages with intense tactility, which function as a direct conceptual precursor to my textile space sculptures of today.
