Conceptual wall reliefs

At the intersection of art, architecture, and perception

Art in dialog with space and consciousness

ALLA GRANDE's sculptural wall reliefs unite conceptual thinking, architecture, and psychological perception. Through the interplay of material, light, and space, works are created that open up emotional and spatial fields of experience beyond their physical form. Their works explore memory, transformation, and the complex processes of human perception. Organic structures, tensions, and condensations transform into reliefs of high spatial presence, oscillating between architectural order and intuitive materiality.

ALLA GRANDE

ALLA GRANDE is a visual artist with five years of higher education in Architecture, Fine Arts, and Design, followed by professional experience in the architectural field.

The connection of these disciplines continues to shape her artistic work and her distinct approach to space, proportion, and form to this day. After many years of engaging with various artistic forms of expression, she developed fabric into her central sculptural medium and a unique formal language that consciously evades traditional genre boundaries.

The works of ALLA GRANDE are unique pieces and have been acquired internationally for private collections as well as hospitality, corporate, and architectural projects, including projects in Germany, Kuwait, Qatar, and the USA.

Artistic approach

My art arises from the desire to give form to the invisible. I am interested in human perception and inner states – memory, change, connection, tension, and the forces that shape us, even though they are not visible.

At the same time, my work is shaped by my deep relationship with architecture, design, and aesthetics. My education in architecture and fine arts influences my approach to proportion, construction, and space. For me, meaning and form must be able to coexist.

My works translate thoughts, experiences, and emotional states into abstract physical forms. They do not prescribe a definitive interpretation, but rather leave room for individual perceptions and associations.

Material & Process

Fabric has become my own artistic language. Through folding, layering, stretching, and shaping, I transform textile materials into permanent sculptural structures. In doing so, I combine construction with intuition, and use the material's diverse properties as part of the artistic process.

Every work arises directly in the artistic process and cannot be identically reproduced. In an era of almost unlimited reproducible images, this uniqueness is of particular importance to me.

A conscious approach to materials and the creation of durable works are part of my artistic attitude. My works are designed to last – materially and aesthetically.

Space & Perception

My wall reliefs unfold their effect in interplay with space, light, and architecture. Their plastic structures change with light, shadow, and perspective, making the work appear different depending on the environment and viewing angle.

Folds, compressions, and gaps create depth and a strong spatial presence. The surrounding architecture becomes part of the work – space and relief influence each other and form a visual unity.

This variability is part of my artistic language. Through movement, light, and spatial perception, the work constantly reveals new facets. Its full complexity can only be grasped in direct encounter – unexpected details, tensions, and structures repeatedly draw the eye and make each work a fascinating discovery.

Sculptural Wall Reliefs

Just as in haute couture, each piece is individually designed in my work. My architectural view of space, form, and proportion
connecting with an innovative approach to textiles, which gives the material a new sculptural presence.

A Look into My Studio - The Space of Material Transformation

My studio is the origin of every transformation. Here, theoretical spatial concepts become physical reality. The creation process is an intense, tactile dialogue with the materials – complex folds and textile layers grow from sketches and studies. Step by step, its own world unfolds in this workshop, navigating between meditative stillness and powerful dynamics. I invite you to look behind the scenes and witness the evolution of my works from the initial idea to the final material tension.

Commissioning a work of art

In addition to independent works for exhibitions, I create site-specific wall sculptures for sophisticated architectural contexts. Each piece is developed as a bespoke response to the tectonic conditions, dimensions, and lighting of the space. In close collaboration with architects, interior designers, galleries, and art consultants, I precisely tailor the visual and sculptural impact to the respective object. The delicate, multi-layered fabrics of gauze, nettle, and cotton also optimize room acoustics naturally and lend modern interiors a lasting, intellectual presence.
